Patchd Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Patchd handles information when you use its audiovisual mini-apps. Patchd is built around on-device creative processing. The app does not use subscriptions, ads, analytics, or user accounts.

Who We Are

Patchd is published by Granu Lab. Our website is granulab.xyz. For privacy or support questions, contact info@granulab.xyz.

What Data Patchd Uses

Camera input. Most Patchd mini-apps use the live camera feed so the app can detect faces, text, pets, hands, bodies, objects, and other visual inputs needed for the audiovisual effects. Camera frames are processed on-device.

Photo library access. Photo FX features such as Emoji Mosaic, Pixel Sort, Dither, Posterize, and similar tools may use photos you select from your library. Those images are processed on-device to create the effect you requested.

Face and body tracking data. Some mini-apps use Vision or ARKit outputs such as pose points, facial blend shapes, or recognition results to drive sound and visuals. These values are generated locally on your device while the feature is running.

No accounts, ads, or analytics. Patchd does not require sign-in, does not show ads, and does not include analytics tracking.

Network Requests and Third Parties

Patchd runs primarily offline. The main network feature described in the current release is fetching public Hacker News headlines for Text Patch and Data Synth.

When you use those features, your device makes a request to retrieve public story data. The provider serving that data may receive your IP address and standard request metadata as part of normal internet traffic.

Patchd also relies on Apple system frameworks such as Vision, ARKit, AVFoundation, and Photos to provide its on-device creative features.

How Data Is Stored and Shared

Granu Lab does not record, collect, or transmit your live camera feed just because you use Patchd. Camera frames, imported photos, and tracking data stay on your device unless you explicitly export or save results using iOS features.

If you save an edited image or output, it is stored where iOS stores the file or photo you chose to save.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share your content with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Choices and Controls

You can control camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings at any time. If you do not grant those permissions, some Patchd mini-apps will not work.

You can remove saved outputs from your Photos library or Files app using the standard controls on your device.

Children's Privacy

Patchd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.
